ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Up and Coming, New Author and winner of the Prestigious Moms Choice Award, Melissa lives in Center Moriches, NY, with her husband, James,10-year-old daughter, Lilyanna, 3-year-old Son, Jameson, and their fur-baby(Yorkie), Stella.  Melissa enjoys spending time with her family at the beach, boating, and traveling. In her spare time, Melissa is a Childrens Mental Health and Adoption advocate. Melissa and her family have been blessed by the adoption of their son Jameson from Texas in 2017. Melissa Founded the Give Back Girls an organization formed also in 2017 to cultivate the love of giving back to the community while fostering leadership, kindness, unity, and integrity (just to name a few) in young Girls in honor of her daughter who has a heart for giving back to those less than fortunate. In addition to this community service group, Melissa along with her husband James are founding a charity called "The Knox Foundation" which will assist in offsetting costs to families who wish to adopt but struggle with the upfront fees that can be heavy when choosing adoption through agencies as well as assist local Foster Families and Charities such as "Hope For Youth" Long Island. Melissa is also a Lead wish granter for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Suffolk County and sits on various charity committees. She has a passion for children’s literature and empowering youth with positivity and drive.

 

What inspired Melissa to write a childrens book about school anxiety and now on adoption? Simply put,  life experiences coupled with passion and drive in helping and inspiring others.

Melissa had great success with her first book Fabulous Faith in Meet My Worry Monster that addition to receiving consumer feedback on how this book helped their children struggling with school anxiety several Dr's and esteemed Psychologists are utilizing and recommending her book in their practice nationwide along with Columbia University, and Yale Childrens Anxiety Centers who uses this as an educational tool.

Melissa is excited to introduce you to her next piece of literature "Leo the Lion and his Birth Story".
